Types of Exam

Since 2023, the TOPIK test has evolved from its traditional paper-based format to include an Internet-based Test option, which is conducted on a computer system. 

The transition has resulted in the distinction between TOPIK PBT (paper-based test) and TOPIK IBT. Although both modes of testing will be available for the time being, there are plans to eventually phase out the paper-based TOPIK test.

In 2024, the schedule includes six sessions for TOPIK PBT in January, April, May, July, October, and November; while three sessions are allocated for TOPIK IBT in March, June, and September. 

It’s noteworthy that the year 2024 will feature the administration of tests ranging from 92nd through to 97th editions. Additionally, separate speaking exams associated with general TOPIK tests are scheduled to take place three times within the same year.
